Day 5


Activity 1

Creative Activity: Fingerprint Bubble bath craft 

Duration: 20-30 minutes 

What do I need?

  • Pink and yellow paint 
  • A4 paper 
  • Blue colour paper- Pre- traced bath *(Parent to prepare before-hand)
  • Markers 
  • Glue 

What to do:

  1. Show your child the end product picture of the fingerprint bubble bath craft. (refer to the picture provided)
  2. Have your child cuts out the bathtub and paste it on an A4 white paper 
  3. Next, your child is to dip one finger in pink paint and make bubbles all over the top of the tube 
  4. Child then dips two fingers in yellow paint and form a rubber ducky (round head with slightly longer oval shaped body)
  5. Allow to dry 
  6. Your child can use the marker to draw an eye and an orange beak for the ducky.
  7. Finally your child can copy the heading Bubble bath craft at the top of the drawing (*Parent to print out clearly for your child to copy)

Sensory activity: Sprinkling sand to create a dirty hand

Duration: 15 – 20 minutes 

What do I need?

  • A4 paper 
  • Marker 
  • Scissors 
  • Colour paper 
  • Glue-stick 
  • Sand 

What to do:

  1. Parent is to trace one of their child’s hands 
  2. Have your child cut the handprint out and paste it onto the colour paper
  3. As your child to draw the nails along the finger tips too.
  4. Next, have your child put glue onto the hand and sprinkle sand over it to represent the germs on the hand. 
  5. Your child could also cut out another handprint and this time decorate it beautifully to represent a well groomed, clean hand- adding rings, a watch, bracelets etc.(girls could also colour the nails in to represent nail polish)

Activity 3

Science experiment: how germs spread 

Duration: 15-20 minutes 

What do I need?

  • Glitter 
  • Bucket of water 
  • Sheet of white paper 

What to do:

  1. Explain to your child that he/she will be doing an experiment to see how germs stick onto our hands
  2. *Parent to assist with getting child’s hands damp using some water (Hands should not be soaking wet)
  3. *Parent then sprinkles a healthy amount of glitter onto child’s hands 
  4. Ask your child to rub his/her palms together 
  5. *Parents are to explain to your child that the glitter represents germs and that their hands are now covered in germs.
  6. Next have your child place his/her palms onto a A4 paper and observe how many germs (glitter) are left behind when they remove their hands 
  7. Parent then ask your child to wash his/her hands in the bucket of water without using soap. Now ask your child what he/she has learnt about washing with water alone.
  8. Then have your child wash his/her hands again by using soap and water. Your child will learn that by washing with soap and water, all of the germs comes easily off
  9. At the end of activity, talk about how easy germs can be spread from person to person
