Activity 2
Physical motor midline crossing activity
What do you need?
A tennis ball
A bat/rolled up newspaper wrapped with masking tape
What to do:
Have your child hit a tennis ball using different angle shots. (This happens naturally as he/she tries to hit the ball). (Each shot encourages a different trajectory across the body midline)
Practice a forehand swing, backhand swing, and overhead serve.
If you do not have a tennis racket or it is too difficult for the child, make paper plate paddles and use a balloon practicing the same swings.
Activity 3
Language/Music
Duration: 10-15 minutes
Sing (Mary had a Little Lamb) and/or Use the following link to access the song
What to do:
Make sure to sing along and dance with your child as this song as an awesome rhythm.
Expand on your child’s vocabulary and language by considering the words in the song and teaching them to your child: example: lamb-baby sheep; fleece –wool; following- going after; against the rules- not allowed; etc.
Do the above after your child knows the song and has sung it many times.
